All moving and storage boxes sold at The Home Depot Canada are made by Pratt Industries and are made with 100 percent post-consumer recycled material. On top of that, not one single tree is used in the making of our moving and storage boxes.

This is achieved by using recovered fiber which is collected from household and business recycling programs and given new life by this circular process:

separated at a materials recovery facility
transported to a paper mill
broken down, cleaned, screened and pressed
converted at a corrugator
shipped to a The Home Depot Canada store in the form of new boxes

Pratt’s focus is on recovering recyclable materials and turning OCC (old corrugated containers) and mixed paper into new paper-based packaging solutions. Their operation is enormous. Every day, Pratt receives 360 truckloads of recovered paper, and every year, they reclaim three million tons of recyclable materials. This shows the power of recycling and the profitability of sustainability.

Pratt’s process has a daily environmental impact of:
