DIY Jewellery Organizer holds several jewellery and accessories.

Add some flair to your space with this simple-to-follow DIY project. This DIY jewellery organizer is the perfect solution to hold and display your favourite pieces of jewellery.

Skill Level: Beginner
Time:
  1. Step 1 Measure and Cut Boards

A person is drawing lines on a wood board to mark where it will be cut.
A person is using a saw to cut the wood board where marked.

On a 24 x 48-inch piece of plywood, measure 6 inches for the width and 23 3/8 inches for the length and cut into two pieces. For ease, we will name these two boards: board A and board B.

Using the same 24 x 48-inch piece of plywood, measure 2 ½ inches for the width and 23 3/8 inches for the length and cut a third piece (board C) which will be attached to board B as a shelf.

  2. Step 2 Sand the Edges of Boards

A person is sanding all the cut wood boards using a sanding sponge.

Sand the edges of the three boards.

  3. Step 3 Cut Dowels and Sand Edges

    A person is measuring dowels.

Using ¼ x 48-inch dowels, cut three pieces at 23 3/8 inches and sand the cut edges.

  4. Step 4 Stain Boards and Dowels

A person is putting a brush into a can of wood stain before staining a wood board.
With a brush, a person is staining a wood board with a dark colour.

Stain all pieces (boards and dowels) and leave to dry.

  5. Step 5 Glue Boards Together

A person is adding glue to the edge of a dark wood board.
Two wood boards are being glued together, while held by clamps.

Glue board B and board C together and clamp them tightly, making sure to remove any excess glue with a damp cloth. Leave to dry.

  6. Step 6 Secure Boards with Finishing Nails

Two wood boards are being nailed together.

Secure board B and C together with a couple of 1 1/2-inch plated finishing nails.

  7. Step 7 Measure and Insert Hooks

A person is attaching hooks to the jewellery holder.

Add your ¾-inch cup hooks to the boards.

Board A: Measure 1 inch from the top and side of each corner and insert two hooks. From underneath the board, measure 1 inch from each corner and side and insert two hooks.

Board B: From underneath, measure 1 inch from each corner and side and insert two hooks. In between the hooks, fill the empty space by inserting 12 more hooks, leaving a gap of 1 ½ inches between each one.

Board C: From underneath, measure 1 inch from the top and side of each corner and insert two hooks.

  8. Step 8 Add Dowels to Boards

A dowel is placed through the jewellery organizer hooks.

Add two dowels to board A and one dowel to board B.

  9. Step 9 Add Sawtooth Hangers to Boards

Sawtooth hangers are attached to a dark wood board.
DIY Jewellery Organizer holds several jewellery and accessories.

Add two sawtooth hangers to the back of board A.

Add two sawtooth hangers to the back of board B.

    That’s it, you’re done!
