What is MicroPro Sienna^®?

Pressure treated with MicroPro Micronized Copper Azole (MCA), MicroPro Sienna^® uses the most advanced preservative technology available in any wood used in residential application. The preservatives have been specially formulated for Canadian species and use, with iron oxide pigments added during pressure treatment to give the wood a warm, brown colour.

Sienna Brown Treated Wood

Not all browns are the same. Though most pressure treated wood can look green in colour, MicroPro Sienna^® Treated Wood uses the most advanced preservative technology and features a warm natural brown tone, enhancing its grain and natural characteristics.

Products treated with the MicroPro Sienna^® pigment colouring system have solid copper particles deposited into the wood to make it resistant to fading. Applying a water repellent to the wood as soon as it’s dry to the touch will help maintain its colour and surface as it may discolour over time due to varying exposure conditions and different wood species.

Green colour may appear along the grain of the wood and around knots due to the copper in the preservative.

Weathered

Over time, the green colour will soften and blend into the overall tone of the wood.

Where Can it be Used?

MicroPro Sienna^® can be used in residential applications (deck, fences, docks and landscaping) above-ground, in ground contact and in freshwater contact.

Great Protection and Eco-Friendly

Processed using patented MicroPro micronized copper preservative, MicroPro Sienna^® Treated Wood has less than half the environmental footprint of traditional residential treated wood. The MicroPro process is certified as an Environmentally Preferable Product (EPP) by SCS and certified UL GREENGUARD Gold for low VOCs.

Improved Corrosion Resistance

MicroPro Sienna^® is no more corrosive to metal products than untreated wood. Consider the surrounding environment and building codes when choosing the correct fasteners and hardware.

Approved for Aluminum Contact

Aluminum building products may be placed in direct contact with MicroPro Sienna^® treated wood products used for interior uses and above ground exterior applications, where the wood is not exposed to frequent and prolonged wetting.

Fungal Decay & Termite Protection

To protect the wood against fungal decay and termite attacks, MicroPro Sienna^® Treated Wood products are pressure treated with MicroPro^® Micronized Copper Azole (MCA). Copper, which has long been known as an effective wood preservative is the main ingredient in the preservative system. MicroPro Sienna^® uses micronized copper coupled with micronized azole for long-term protection of wood exposed in exterior applications.

Finishing Touches

When It’s Dry, Apply

Any exposed wood should be protected with a high quality water repellent or semi-transparent stain to help reduce warping, checking, splitting and colour fading. Remember, pigments or colour in the product will protect the wood surface against UV. Always read the product label and follow the manufacturer’s recommendations on how and when the product should be applied.
