What To Expect

Shop homedepot.ca and select your garage door opener.
Check the box under “Get It Installed,” select an installation option and make sure you’ve entered the correct postal code.
Click “Add To Cart”, then complete your order.

Within 24 hours of completing your order, the installer will contact you via text message to schedule installation.
Please ensure that your installation is scheduled after your delivery date.

Your garage door opener will be delivered at your curbside prior to installation.
You are responsible for moving your garage door opener to the site where it will be installed.

The installer will arrive at the scheduled time to install your new garage door opener.
They will disconnect your old garage door opener if required, and install the new one in its place.
They will perform a cleanup and inspection, then advise on proper usage and maintenance for your new garage door opener.

No. Our installers will disconnect your old garage door opener before installing the new one.

Yes. Customers are responsible to ensure that their garage space is clear in order for our installers to efficiently perform the install.

No. Delivery and installation services are arranged and scheduled separately from each other. If haul away is purchased without installation, your old garage door opener will be taken away or moved when the new one is delivered.
The installer will contact you via text message within 24 hours of completing your order to schedule your garage door opener installation. Please take your delivery time into account when scheduling your installation appointment.

In most cases, your garage door opener installation can be completed in 1-2 hours.

If the unit arrives with visible damage, you have up to 48 hours from time of delivery to notify The Home Depot at 1-800-759-2054 of any concealed damage. If you notice a defect (not damage) in the unit after the 48 hours, this becomes a warranty issue. Please call the manufacturer’s warranty line. This is not the responsibility of the installer. The appliance comes with a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty. In addition, you may choose to purchase an Extended Service Plan at any time within the first year.
