Over-the-Range Microwave Installation

At the Home Depot, we strive to ensure a more complete, satisfactory customer experience. That’s why we offer the option of adding installation services to your order when purchasing an over-the-range microwave online.  

The Home Depot lets you purchase a Basic Installation service, including all required parts, with your online over-the-range microwave order. 

Basic Over-the-Range Microwave Installation (Remove/Replace) 

This service is for customers who are either: 
a) replacing an existing over-the-range microwave in the same location, or 
b) getting a new one installed at a site that has already been fully fitted to accommodate an over-the-range microwave. 

New Over-the-Range Microwave Installation (Electrical)

If you need your new over-the-range microwave installed in a location not previously set up for one, you will likely require electrical work beyond the scope of our Basic Over-the-Range Microwave Installation service. If additional work is required for your new over-the-range microwave installation, please visit your nearest Home Depot to speak with an Associate.

What to Expect

1 Select Product and Services

  • Shop homedepot.ca and select your over-the-range microwave.
  • Check the box under “Get It Installed,” select an installation option and make sure you’ve entered the correct postal code.
  • Click “Add To Cart”, then complete your order.

2 Schedule Installation

  • Within 24 hours of completing your order, the installer will contact you via text message to schedule installation.
  • Please ensure that your installation is scheduled after your delivery date.
  • For a quick response to any questions/concerns related to your installation, send an SMS text to 84322 (standard text and data rates may apply) or visit our Contact Us page to chat with an associate.

3 Delivery

  • You will be notified about your delivery window after 4pm the day before your delivery. 
  • You will receive a call up to 30 minutes prior to your delivery.
  • The delivery agent will unbox the appliance upon delivery.
  • The delivery team will dispose of all your packaging.
  • Please note that the delivery team is not equipped to install your over-the-range microwave.
  • For small appliances, direct delivery may be offered. If so, a tracking number will be provided, and delivery will not be handled by a delivery agent, as mentioned above.

4 Installation

  • The installer will arrive at the scheduled time to install your new over-the-range microwave.
  • They will disconnect your old over-the-range microwave if required, and install the new one in its place.
  • They will perform a cleanup and inspection, then advise on proper usage and maintenance for your new over-the-range microwave.
