Toilet Installation

•  Your Basic Toilet Installation will include: un-packaging; disconnecting the existing toilet; installation of the new toilet in the same location as the old one; installation of a new supply line (most toilets come with a wax ring and bolts, if not supplied within your package, the installer will supply and install); and testing to ensure the new toilet is in proper working order. 
• 1-year labour warranty.

• Our Installers will not clear any clogged drains, make any modifications to existing structures, or upgrade your plumbing to accommodate your new toilet. 
• Installation does not include flange repairs or a shut off valve for your new toilet. 
• Haul away and disposal of your old toilet are not included unless purchased separately. 
• Mileage expenses may apply if your installation requires over 50 km travel from the store. 

• In most cases, your toilet installation can be completed in 2 hours or less. 

• No. With Basic Toilet Installation, Home Depot installers will only hook up your new toilet in a location that has already been fitted for one. Installing a toilet in a new location requires preparatory work, likely including the services of a plumber. This additional work is not included in Basic Toilet Installation. 
• If additional work is required for your new toilet installation, please visit your nearest Home Depot to speak with an associate. 

• The distance between the floor drain and the wall, called the rough-in, this is one factor to consider when selecting your toilet. The standard distance is 12”, and 10” or 14” are occasionally found in older homes. You can determine the rough-in on an existing toilet by measuring from the wall behind the toilet to the middle of the bolts on the base. 

• All required parts are included in the cost of your Basic Toilet Installation service. 

• You can use your new toilet once the silicone has dried completely, this usually takes about 24 hours.  
• Avoid exposing the silicone to moisture while it is still drying. 
• If you have a shower in your bathroom, please abstain from using it before the silicone has dried. 

• Yes. If you would like your old toilet to be hauled away, the service can be purchased prior to checkout.  

• No. Our installers will disconnect your old toilet before installing the new one.   

• No. Delivery and installation services are arranged and scheduled separately from each other. If haul away is purchased without installation, your old toilet will be taken away or moved when the new one is delivered.
• The installer will contact you via text message or phone within 24 hours of completing your order to schedule your toilet installation. Please take your delivery time into account when scheduling your installation appointment. 

• If the toilet arrives with visible damage, ask the delivery agent about the Save the Delivery process. Once explained, if this is not something that is acceptable to you, we recommend that you refuse the delivery and indicate ‘refused due to damage’ on the bill of lading (BOL). Otherwise, you have up to 48 hours from time of delivery to notify The Home Depot at 1-800-759-2054 of any concealed damage. If you notice a defect (not damage) in the toilet after the 48 hours, this becomes a warranty issue. Please call the manufacturer’s warranty line. This is not the responsibility of the installer. The appliance comes with a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty. In addition, you may choose to purchase an Extended Service Plan at any time within the first year.
