When looking for a new bathroom faucet, it’s important to decide which type you need. There are a few different types including centreset, single-hole and widespread faucets that can be used on various types of sinks. Here are some of the differences:
Single-Hole Bathroom Faucets
Single-hole faucets fit on sinks with just one hole, or three holes with a deck plate. These usually have only one handle to control hot and cold water flow.
Centreset Bathroom Faucets
A centreset faucet has both handles combined onto one base, usually about 4 inches wide. They can be installed on the sink itself or onto the countertop.
Widespread Bathroom Faucets
A widespread faucet has two separate handles, one for hot and one for cold, with a centre-mounted spout. The standard width for these faucets is at least 8 inches.
Wall-Mount Bathroom Faucets
A wall-mounted bathroom faucet is similar to a regular faucet, except it is mounted on the wall above the sink, and not to the sink/countertop.

Vessel faucets are made taller for them to fit over a vessel or bowl-shaped sink.
