How to Renew and Reseal Bathroom Caulk

Resealing your caulked bathroom areas is a great way to prevent any leaks or water damage from occurring around your tub or sink areas. We’ll show you how to easily clean and reapply your bathroom caulk using LePage ReNEW Silicone Caulk Sealer to keep your bathroom water tight.

Skill Level: Beginner
Time:
  1. Step 1 Clean the Existing Caulked Area

    Clean the Existing Caulked Area

Wet a cloth with soap and water and rub the existing caulk until it is free of any dirt and debris. If there is any mould, use a mould cleaner. The cleaner the caulk is, the better your new caulk will adhere. Wipe it dry.

  2. Step 2 Apply New Caulk

    Apply New Caulk

Using LePage ReNEW Silicone Caulk Sealer, squeeze the tube and spread a bead of caulk on top of the existing caulk line, making sure to completely cover it. If you make a mistake, use a damp cloth to wipe the caulk away and try again.

  3. Step 3 Smooth with Built-in Tool

    Smooth with Built-in Tool

Without squeezing the tube, use the LePage ReNEW Silicone Caulk Sealer’s smoothing tool to smooth the caulk until it is flat along both the bottom and wall edges.

  4. Step 4 Clean the Tool and Let the Caulk Dry

Clean the Tool and Let the Caulk Dry

That’s it! Now clean the tip of your ReNEW Silicone Caulk Sealer’s smoothing tool and wait for your caulk to dry – about 6 hours for optimal dryness. You can then shower or use your sink like normal.
