DIY Concrete Plant Stand

Simple and modern, this DIY Concrete Plant Stand is the perfect showcase for your plants. Concrete, wooden dowels, water and a bucket are all you need to make this modern DIY Concrete Plant Stand.

  1. Step 1 Gather Materials

    Gather your materials.

  2. Step 2 Mark and Cut Dowels

    Mark and Cut Dowels

    Mark three 19-inch sections on your dowels and cut using a mitre saw.

  3. Step 3 Mark Filling Line in Bucket

    Using a tape measure, mark a 3.5-inch line inside your bucket.

  4. Step 4 Pour Concrete

    Pour Concrete

    Pour concrete mixture into your bucket up until the marked line.

  5. Step 5 Mix Concrete

    Mix Concrete

    Slowly pour clean water into the concrete and mix thoroughly until it is the consistency of cookie dough. Be sure not to overwater as this will compromise the strength of the concrete.

  6. Step 6 Tap Out Air Bubbles

    Tap Out Air Bubbles

    After mixing, tap your bucket several times to ensure it is level and you’ve removed any air bubbles.

  7. Step 7 Place Dowels

    Place Dowels

    One at a time, place your dowels in the middle of your bucket and set on the sides.

    To keep the dowels in place during the curing process, use masking tape to secure to the sides.

  9. Step 9 Let Dry

    Let Dry

    Once your dowels are evenly in place, let dry at least 24 hours.

  10. Step 10 Remove Stool From Bucket

    Gently work the sides of the bucket until you can remove the stools.

  11. Step 11 Sand Smooth

    Sand Smooth

    To finish off your stool, sand smooth.
