Step 1 Measure and Cut the Wood
To begin making your DIY headboard, start by cutting your lumber based on the dimensions in this cut list. The scrap pieces will be used to support the frame of your headboard during installation.
Three 2" x 4" x 8’ whitewood:
- Two 55" legs
- One 68" top trim
- Leave four scrap pieces
Three 1" x 4" x 8’ whitewood:
- Two 60" supports
- Three 27" uprights
- Leave 2 scrap pieces
Four 1" x 2" x 8’ strip boards:
- Three 60" finishing trims
- Two 31" finishing trim
