Let your creativity take shape with this simple-yet-stylish DIY planter. Using paving stones and paint, you can create a container garden with an artistic twist.
There are 9 steps to completing this project:
Gather all materials. If you wish to create multiple planters, you will need 5 pavers for each. Lay down cardboard or old sheets to protect your working surface. An outdoor working location is recommended.
Apply a line of block adhesive to one side of the first paver and press it to one inside edge of the second paver to create 90-degree angle. Repeat with the two other side-pavers to create a perfect square. Ensure all edges are flush and pressed firmly in place.
Apply caulking all around the top of the side-pavers, and carefully place the bottom paver on. Wipe away any excess caulking.
Allow to dry for at least 24 hours.
Using an orbital sander, sand the outside of the planter smooth.
Carefully flip the planter right-side up. Use pieces of painter’s tape to outline the shapes and designs that you want your finished planter to have. Tape-off any areas you don’t wish to get paint on.
Paint the non-taped areas and let dry.
Peel off the tape.
Plant shrubs or large plants and place around your patio or door to create a welcoming entryway.
