Step 1 Wash and Dry the Rocks
Prepare the rocks by washing or rinsing and drying them to remove any dirt and debris.
A project that’s perfect for both young and old alike, you can showcase your creative side with rock painting. Add colour to your home or some cacti-cuteness to your desk—there’s nothing better than a decorative DIY project that the whole family can enjoy.
There are 7 steps to completing this project:
Prepare the rocks by washing or rinsing and drying them to remove any dirt and debris.
Time to start your rock painting. Use acrylic paint to paint your rocks. Paint one side of the rock and leave it to dry, then flip and paint the other side. Once you have applied multiple coats of paint, leave the rocks to dry.
Draw on your design using an oil-based permanent marker. Leave the design to dry.
Seal the rocks with several coats of sealer and leave them to dry.
Paint your ceramic pot with the colour of your choice. Leave it to dry.
Apply some construction adhesive before filling your 5-inch ceramic pot with leftover rocks from the bag of pebbles. Leave the pot to dry for 24 hours.
Secure your decorated rocks with more construction adhesive and leave them to dry for a further 24 hours.
Cut a length of 16-inch copper wire. Make three loops around your painted rock and tighten the wire around the base. Enjoy your rock painting!
