Step 1 Cut Seat Slats
Cut your 2x4's into 13 pieces that are each 15" long.
Don’t forget to seal your cut pieces to ensure the bench will last in exterior weather.
Simple exterior bench made from Pressure Treated lumber using 2x4's and fence boards.
There are 8 steps to completing this project:
Cut your 2x4's into 13 pieces that are each 15" long.
Don’t forget to seal your cut pieces to ensure the bench will last in exterior weather.
Cut 4 short leg sections with a 45 degree angle on one end so that they measure 18" long on the longest end.
Cut 2 long horizontal leg pieces with a 45 degree angle on each end so that they measure 48" on the longest ends.
Attach with screws, one short vertical leg to each end of the long horizontal leg so that it forms a "U" shape. Do this twice to make both leg assemblies.
Evenly space your seat slats between the leg assemblies and screw together. 2 screws per side per slat. Leave aside 2 slats for step 6.
Take your 2 leftover slats and install them with screws on the short section of the legs to create a step/kickplate. 2 screws per side per slat. Approximately 3" from the floor height.
Cut your fence boards to match your assembled leg pieces so that the outer edges are flush.
Use a narrow crown stapler or 1.5" screws and install the fence boards to complete your waterfall bench.
