Step 1 Positioning Sink
Measure and mark the centre of your cabinet on the countertop surface.
There are so many stunning faucets available today that they can make a design statement in and of themselves. Coupled with a shiny new sink, the wet area of your kitchen can be updated with minimal effort and time. Choose your style combination to complement the rest of your décor – modern, country, traditional. It's easy to find just the right look. A few tools and a little care will give you a whole new look with major impact.
There are 11 steps to completing this project:
Measure and mark the centre of your cabinet on the countertop surface.
Layout the sink template using the centre mark and the manufacturer's offsets.
To accommodate the jigsaw blade, drill pilot holes in the countertop in the four corners of your sink template, just inside the cutout line.
To ensure that the jigsaw doesn't damage the countertop, apply masking tape along the outside of the cut line.
Run the jigsaw along the cut line. Support the cutout so it doesn't bind or damage the cabinet.
Place the sink into position and check for fit. Then mark the holes required for your faucet on the counter, using the existing faucet hole(s) in the sink as a guide.
Remove sink and drill the faucet hole(s). Consult the manufacturer's instructions to determine the proper hole size.
Apply plumbers putty to the sink, as per the manufacturer's specifications.
Using the supplied "hold-downs", fasten the sink from underneath, making sure to follow the manufacturer's specifications.
Place faucet in proper hole(s) and mount underneath using supplied hardware.
