There is no cost to join Local Pro or to remain with the program. However, you will need to complete an annual background check, which costs $65 to complete. Your compliance records then remain on file. If you’re non-compliant, you will not receive leads.

- In most parts of Canada, you will need a plumber’s trade licence to be eligible for Local Pro plumbing leads.
- Québec Pros will require their Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ).
- BC Pros will need to show their Qualification of Certification.

Pros who have signed up for multiple services will not need to complete more than one background check. It does, however, need to be renewed annually.

- As a Pro Xtra member, you earn credits every time you shop at The Home Depot, in store or online.
- For every $50 you spend at The Home Depot on your Pro Xtra account, you’ll earn 1 plumbing lead.
- Plumbing leads are distributed based on your geography, availability, and demand for your service or area.
- At any time, you can choose to stop receiving plumbing referrals (or resume if you have stopped) if you wish to save your credits for another time.

Pro Xtra members who register for Local Pro must successfully complete our online registration and background check to be eligible for Local Pro plumbing leads.

Mandatory Background Check
- To be eligible for Local Pro plumbing leads, plumbers must submit to a mandatory background check.
- All background screening is performed through Entuitive Compliance.
- A background check fee of $65 is applicable to keep your Local Pro account in compliance.
- Valid Canadian Credit Card
Mandatory Business Documents
The following documents are required to complete your background check:
- Business licence or GST number (RBQ in Quebec)
- Insurance coverage ($1 million minimum)
